Trip Introduction:

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is one of the most popular treks in Langtang region situated in the northeast part of central Nepal, close to Kathmandu valley. Langtang Gosaikunda trek offers an opportunity to see the beautiful Langtang valley furthermore trekkers can enjoy Himalayan beauty diverse ethnic Tamang culture of the region with high mountain and a spiritual holy lake the Gosaikunda lake. Gosaikunda lake is holiest lake one of the major attraction of the route. Thousands of Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrims visit the lakes during a full moon festival in August. The Langtang Gosaikunda trek a perfect blended of nature, culture, geographical and biologically diverse. During the visit, we pass through beautiful Langtang National Park and then trek toward the valley of Langtang with beautiful Himalaya mountain rage in a backdrop.

Our 15 days treks, start from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi an 8 hours ride by bus. During the drive, we can see the dense forest, rivers, snow-capped peaks and also experience the bumpy roads. From Syabru Besi, we start trekking passing through rhododendron forest along with Langtang river (Khola). Going further, we can witness birds habitat its mesmerizing singing voice all over the place adds your mood to cheer up. After that, we will cross the Langtang village and then reach the Kyanjin Gompa – one of the oldest monastery in the region, you can see and know about the lifestyle of Buddhist monks performing their daily worship and rituals. We trek further to Thulo Syabru then we go to Sing Gompa. Then we trek toward Tserko Ri (5033m), from where you can have stunning views of Mt. Langtang Lirung (7200m), Mt. Langtang II (7227m) and many other snow-peaked mountains. You can also visit the cheese factory where handmade cheeses are produced which are very much famous. Further ahead, we will reach Lama Hotel – Ganesh Himal(7600m) and Mt. Langtang II (7,227m) can be seen. We will move forward to Gosaikunda – a holy lake, both Buddhist and Hindu religious people visit this lake. Gosaikunda lake is believed to create by Lord Shiva by his holy Trident when he hit the mountain, the lake was formed. The view of rising sun over the lake will make feel amazing.

Day 1 Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu [1400m], escort to Hotel
We start our trip from Kathmandu to Shyabru Besi which is 9 hours drive away. Soon after 30 Km’s drive, we reach at pristine villages on the banks of the Trishuli River. We can enjoy the pleasing peaks of the Langtang region including the Annapurnas, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal.

Day 2 Drive Kathmandu – Shyabru Besi (144km) / 1400m / 9 Hrs
We start our trip from Kathmandu to Shyabru Besi which is 9 hours drive away. Soon after 30 Km’s drive, we reach at pristine villages on the banks of the Trishuli River. We can enjoy the pleasing peaks of the Langtang region including the Annapurnas, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal.

Day 3 Trek Shyabru Besi – Lama Hotel (2380m, 6 Hrs)
Ongoing with our Langtang Gosainkunda Trek we come across Langtang Khola, traced fields and dense forest of varied plants like oaks, maple, alder, bamboo and many more to reach a stream and a bridge to be crossed. On way, we may have opportunity to see yellow-throated marten, wild boar, langur monkey, red panda and Himalayan black bear. Further ahead of several bhattis (tea shop), we ascend steeply towards a bridge at 2000 meters to be crossed. The trail further continues and crosses to the north bank of the Langtang Khola. Along the spectacular vistas of cascading waterfalls and opens to scrub oak forest we climb gradually, cross the Langtang River and reach Lama Hotel.

Day 4 Lama Hotel To Langtang Village (3500m, 6 Hrs)
The trail ascending above the Langtang Khola from Lama Hotel continues being sharper as we move ahead. The exotic view of Langtang Lirung lying at 7246 meters can be viewed from here.
The trail further continues to a long bridge and passes through lush meadows of Ghoda Tabela at 3000m along with the police check post and several lodges to reach a wide valley of yak pastures and scattered Tamang villages with water-driven mills and prayer wheels. Flat-roofed Tibetan style houses, hotels and cultivated lands yielding buckwheat, potatoes wheat, turnips, barley etc can be seen when we moved to Langtang village.

Day 5 Langtang Village – Kyagjin Gompa (3700m, 3 Hrs)
We now skirt through rich yak pastures and interesting traditional villages of Muna to Singdun. The trail leads to Kyangin Gompa passing through a wooden cantilever bridge, climbing moraine, wide valley and finally ascending the mountain passes. We can find a small monastery and government-operated cheese factory.

Day 6 Kyanjin Gompa, Explore around Kyagjin
We can take a rest for the day and explore interesting places like monastery, cheese factory along with a climb at kyanjin Ri located at 4350m to witness mystic view or snow-capped mountains scattered around. Also, we can see the spectacular mountain ridges and undulating glaciers in short walking distance.

Day 7 Trek Kyanjin Gompa – Lama Hotel (2380m, 7 Hrs)
Today, we route back to Lama Hotel following Langtang Khola to Langtang village and to Ghora Tabela where we stop shortly for lunch. Again we continue along the steep descent trail to Lama Hotel.

Day 8 Trek Lama Hotel – Shyabru Village (2087m, 6 Hrs)
From Lama Hotel, we head back to Shyabru Village. We can wander around the undulating path leading to the village. This gives us an opportunity to get an insight of the culture and custom of the Tamang community.

Day 9 Sing Gompa (3254m, 5 Hrs) Trek Shyabru Village
Then after we move on to the forest of oak, firs and rhododendrons and gains a ridge. Staying fairly level in the forest we cross the ridge top towards the head of the valley. The trail ascends at each junction crosses another forested ridge continuing the same to the second valley. Finally, we are at the final ridge at the altitude of 3650m. The Sing Gompa is about 100 meter along the trail to the trail to the left. We find a small cheese factory and a neglected Gompa with its 1000-armed Avalokitesvara statue.

Day 9 Sing Gompa – Gosain Kund (The Sacred Lake) (4300m, 6 Hrs)
Gosainkunda, according to Hindu religion, the high altitude lake was created by Lord Shiva. From Sing Gompa, an ascending ridge connects to the trail towards Gosainkunda (Holy Shiva’s Lake). The trail climbs sharply at the edge in points and riches at the top. We, then find rich moist mountain forests on the northern slopes and dry scrub vegetation to the south. As we climb the ascending trail the excellent views of Langtang Valley and Langtang Lirung can be observed and mystic views of Himalchuli, Ganesh Himal and Manaslu to the west. The trail then towards Gosainkunda. Before, we come across two more lakes Saraswati Kunda and then Bhairab Kunda. The third lake, Gosainkunda, is particularly sacred and a place of pilgrimage in the summer.

Day 11 Gosainkund – Tharepati (3600m, 8 Hrs)
The rugged trail continues passing several small lakes to the Laurebina Pass (4610m) allowing us to enjoy beautiful and clear view of Jugal Himal and Rolwaling. Further trail descends to the tree line along with the ridge. Finally, we reach Rharepati for an overnight stay after passing through Juniper, Rhododendron forest and beautiful waterfalls.

Day 12 Tharepati – Kutumsang (2470m, 7 Hrs)
Moving towards Kutumsang we steadily drop through Fir and Rhododendron forest and prickly leafed oak forest. The trail provides beautiful views of the mountains and Helambu valley.

Day 13 Kutumsang – Chisapani (2165m, 6 Hrs)
We make an easy undulating trail to Chisapani. cross a pass at 2470m and descending to a large Tamang village called Pati Bhanjyang. The rising trail of about 2 hours we arrive at Chisopani and a temple in chisopani danda is just a short distance above. The vista of mountains from the Chisopani Danda spreads from south of Everest to the Manaslu range.

Day 14 Sundarijal – Kathmandu (1300m, 5 Hrs)
After 45 minutes drive to Kathmandu, we trek to Sundarijal. The route from Chisopani passes through meadows and cultivated fields and climbing through oak and rhododendron forest. Now, we reach at Burlang Bhanjyang from where magnificent views of Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, and Numbur are visible respectively from west to east. Marking the northern rim of Kathmandu valley we enter to the Shivapuri watershed and wildlife reserve. The undulating trail through the reserve leads us to the Mulkharka. The trail continues on endless stairs towards Sundarijal and exit from the reserve. From Sundarijal we take drive to Kathmandu.

Day 15 International Departure as per your schedule 
Breakfast at hotel and approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight, a representative from the Nepal Power Places will take you to the airport.
