Day 1 Fly from Kathmandu to Bhutan
FLY KATHMANDU – PARO (2200m) – THIMPU (2300m, 2 hrs) The first option to go Bhutan from Kathmandu is Flight from Kathmandu to Paro which is 2200 meter far from Kathmandu, and from Kathmandu to Thimpu the Capital of Bhutan which takes 2hrs and 2300 meter far from Kathmandu the choice is yours. FLIGHT KATHMANDU – GONGGAR(3600m, 1 HRS) & DRIVE TO LHASA (3658m, 100kms, 2hrs) Pointless to express more, how beautiful and stunning the flight to Lhasa Gongar airport, does not matter where the flight is from, It is one of the world`s most stunning flight sightseeing ever. You will be welcomed by our Tibetan crew guide and driver. when you arrive at Lhasa Gongar airport. you will experience the first Tibetan hospitalities accompanied by sweet smiles. Your hotel stay is situated at high altitude and which will be your first experience in this tour and then you will step to the local altitude, where your room is booked by our representative. Over the glittering Himalayan ranges to the foothills of Paro which is one of the most spectacular mountain flights of all. This mountain flight offers one of the finest and the most exciting descent into the Himalayan Kingdom. Upon arrival, Nepal Power Places’ representative will greet and receive you and transfer to Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan. If we have time to spare then we can also visit Buddha Park and Trichichoe Dzhong at Thimpu the same day.
Day 2 Sightseeing Of Thimpu & Afternoon Drive To Punakha (1350m, 5hrs)
After sightseeing at Thimpu we will take a drive to Punakha from the Dochula Pass (3150 m) which offers view of the Eastern Himalayan Mountains. On the way to Punakha, at Dochula Pass we take a short break and enjoy the view of the chorten, mani wall and prayer flags decorating the highest point on the road. Additionally, the highest peak in Bhutan, Gangkhar puensum (7,497m), can be seen along with many mountain peaks like Masagang (7,158m), Tsendagang (6,960m), Terigang (7,060m ), Jejegangphugang (7,158 m ), Kangphugang (7,170 m ), Zongphugang (7, 060 m ) which dominates the isolated region of Lunana. Punakha Dzong is next in our list in Bhutan Tour 5 Days. It was strategically built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1637 at the junction of Pho Chhu (Male River) and Mo Chhu (Female River). It played an important role in Bhutan’s history and serve as the religious and administrative center of the region. Punakha Dzong is also the winter residence of Bhutan’s spiritual leader, the Head Abbot and the Central Monastic Body.
Day 3 Excursion Punakha & Drive To Paro (2200m, 5 Hrs)
Punakha Dzong was built in 1636 by the first Shabdrung. Being one of the most beautiful Dzongs in Bhutan which is remarkable to visit at Punakha. Then we continue our drive to Paro. At noon we visit Bhutan’s National museum originally built as Watch Tower above the huge Paro Dzong (monastery/fortress). The museum holds fascinating collection of national treasures ranging from ancient armor, art, artifacts, thangka paintings and Bhutan exquisite postage stamps. Further, drive north to Paro valley to visit ruins of Drukgyel Dzong and an excursion to Taktsang Monastery. It is a popular fort used by Bhutanese to repel several invasions of Tibetan Armies. It also offers the spectacular view of Mount. Jumolhari (23,996ft /7314m) and also visit Rinpung Dzong along with typical Bhutanese farmhouse.
Day 4 Hike To Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) (3120m, 5 Hrs) & Sightseeing In Paro
Today, we drive north to Paro valley to visit ruins of Drukgyel Dzong and an excursion to Taktsang Monastery. It is a popular fort used by Bhutanese to repel several invasions of Tibetan Armies. It also provides an opportunity to visit nearby traditional Bhutanese Farm House and have good insight into the lifestyle of local people. Taktsang is the most famous Bhutanese Monastery. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche arrived on the back of the tigress and meditated at this monastery. Therefore, it is also called “Tiger’s Nest”. The round trip excursion of monastery takes almost 5 hours and we return back to Paro town. En route visits the Kyichu Lhakhang which is one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the Kingdom.
Day 5 International Departure from Paro Airport to your destination
After an early breakfast, we drive to the airport for onward destination to Delhi or Bankok.
