Mount Kailash is a 6,638 m (21,778 ft) high peak in the Kailash Range (Gangdisê Mountains), which forms part of Transhimalaya in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

The mountain is located near Lake Manasarovar and Lake Rakshastal, close to the source of some of the longest Asian rivers: the Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Karnali also known as Ghaghara (a tributary of the Ganges) in India. Mount Kailash is considered to be sacred in four religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Bön and Jainism.

Mt. Kailash lies in north of the lake Manasarovar and south of this lake rises Gurla Mountain (Tibetan: Memo Nanyi) which third highest mountain in Tibet, which height is 7694m/ 25243ft after Mt. Shishapangma (8027m/26396ft) and Mt. Namchak Rarwa (7756m/25446ft).
The shape of Mt. Kailash is vast- pyramid. It is also of four big rivers i.e. Indus, Brahmaputra, Sutlej and Karnali.

In Hindu

For Hindus, According to Hindu mythology, Hindu peoples believed Lord Shiva and Parvati is resides of the summit of Mt. Kailash.

Bonpo

As pre-Buddhist, Bon religion, Bonpo, they called as “Yungdrung Gutsey” as “Mount Kailash”. For the Bonpo, the holy mountain is the spiritual centre of historic Kingdom Zhang Zhung, they believe their sky goddess Sipaimen dwells and their founder Tonpa Sherab descended from the heavens.
